English Ghost Stories
Author: Catherine Wells, Herbert Russell Wakefield, Richard Hughes, Elizabeth Walter, Alfred Noyes.
Genre: Ghost Stories (stories which frighten you)
Characters: The main character is Lord.
Story:
The story that I chose is The Ghost by Richard Hughes.
The setting is the High Street and down Lily Lane.
Lord had killed people by crashing their head on the cobbles. All his life, he had been terrified of ghosts, he was afraid that they would come into his house. One day he went to Pole Street, he was killed in Pole Street by ghosts that he had killed when they were humans.
He became a ghost and he tried to say to one woman (whose name was Millie) that he was dead, but she did not hear him. He looked for John (his friend) but he could not find him. Finally, the policemen followed the dead, they said they were horrible.
My Opinion:
I think that this story was easy and not too difficult to read. I didn’t like the story because it didn’t frighten me and it follows that I only found it mediumly interesting.

Title: English Ghost Stories
Opinion: My opinion of this book is not good but not bad… In this book, for me, the intrigue is not bright enough and it’s not expressive enough. The stories are very short so we haven’t time to imagine them as we should. I don’t like this book because we don’t know many things about the characters, the stories in themselves are not frightening.
