Author: Mark Twain
Genre: Adventure
Characters: The main character is a young boy called Tom. Maybe he lives with his Aunt who is the second main character. Her name is Polly.
Story:
Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are two turbulent friends. Tom lives with his Aunt Polly. He likes to fight with the new children from the village. He is in love with Becky. Adventures happen to him. One evening he goes into a cemetery to bury a cat, Tom and Huckleberry see three men, the Doctor of the village, Red Joe the Indian, and Muff Potter dig up a man. A brawl bursts out between the three men. Red Joe kills the Doctor with his knife and gives the knife to Muff Potter who is totally drunk. The following day, Potter is arrested for murder. But Tom denounces Red Joe, who was the true culprit. This last succeeds in fleeing. Thanks to the intelligence and the courage of Tom and Huck, they will succeed in thwarting the gangster’s plan. Joe will die, and Potter will be cleared.
My Opinion:
That was an interesting book, I liked this story, but I found it difficult.

Title: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
Story (plot): Tom Sawyer, a mischievous orphan taken in by his Aunt Polly, goes through a series of adventures involving his friends, Joe Harper and Huckleberry Finn. Tom is an escape master, and a professional trickster. He escapes punishment many times by his tricks. Though he is often foolish and unpredictable, he also is somewhat smart and has a good sense of humor. When not trying to win his sweetheart, Becky Thatcher, Tom is either getting into mischief or going on an adventure. Many times, Tom suddenly changes from his grinning self into a fearsome pirate or Indian. His laugh changes into a bloodcurdling yell or a barking captain's voice. Tom Sawyer's main doings are racing bugs, impressing girls with fights and stunts in the schoolyard, getting lost in a cave, and playing pirates on the Mississippi River. The best known passage in the book describes how Sawyer persuades his friends to whitewash, or paint, a long fence for him.

Opinion: I found this book odd, the story does not really interest me because I do not like this kind of story. I recommend this book to those who like intrigue, but it is not my case, in this context.

Title: Tom Sawyer (his adventures)
My Opinion:
I liked this book. It’s an adventure book. And I’m fond of this. Tom Sawyer is a young, very, very clever boy and I like this character. He always succeeds. And I like the situations in the book. I find a particular chapter very touching. It’s a chapter where Tom falls in love with a cute little girl. It’s so cute because they are children and it’s a good laugh to read their ways of charming somebody else. In this story, Tom and his friend, Huck, witness a murder. They promised to say nothing about it. The main character doesn’t like school like me =-) so I can understand what he felt. There are a lot of feelings in this book. The main character falls in love, is angry with his brother, is scared, he mustn’t repeat what he saw... It was easy to read it. But there are some details which I didn’t understand. His Aunt doesn’t really hate him but doesn’t really like him. She said that she must be fair and strict for Tom’s education. Tom does a lot of bad or stupid things like not going to school, not working... He’s free but not really polite. I knew the title of this book because my mother read it when she was a child but I had never read it.
