The Big Picture
Author: Sue Leather
Genre: Thriller (because there is suspense and action)
Characters: The main character in my book is called Ken Harada, but his real name is Kanji Harada. He takes photos for a newspaper, he takes photos of famous people. It’s his job. He likes his job, he thinks it’s very nice, because he meets a lot of people. To take good photos, he uses a Nikon camera, and there is a darkroom in his flat. He works for Tokai Agency, Kenzaburo Yashimoto is the boss of the agency.
Story:
This story takes place in Japan. Tokyo is in Japan. Tokyo is a big city, but it’s very beautiful, dynamic, and nice. There are a lot of buildings, it’s so imposing, and there are hotels, they are fashionable and elegant (for example: the Tokyo Garden Hotel). There are lots of people and lots of noise.
Ken must take a photo for his agency, he has to go to Tokyo, to the Tokyo Garden Hotel, to take a photo of a Sumo star in Japan. Ken comes to the hotel. This time he takes a photo when Takahanda smiled at Kimiko. Ken is very happy because he’s going to get some money. Ken sees a car pulled up by his taxi. One man in the car has a revolver! Ken asks the driver to go quickly. Ken arrives home, but someone shows up at Ken’s house. Ken is scared and calls the police. Then, his telephone rings and it’s his boss, Ken must take a photo. But in the street a man pushes Ken into a car! There is a surprising ending and there is a twist in the tail.
My Opinion:
I loved this book a lot, because it is an interesting story, with pleasant characters. Ken is the main character, he’s nice and courageous. Then, there is suspense and action, it’s not boring.

Title: The Big Picture
My opinion:
I did not like this book too much because I didn’t understand the real meaning of the story. There is no action and I found that it was too short so that the story is finished. There were too many characters to be able to follow the story. I did not understand why he absolutely wanted the photograph of the famous sumo wrestler and why he was kidnapped.
